ABOUT ETHAN HAMLIN

As a performer, Ethan Hamlin has had the opportunity to sing and play alongside many musicians who have extensively performed, toured, and recorded with world-renowned artists such as Elton John, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Billy Joel, and Percy Sledge and others, as well as numerous members of The Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Marshall Tucker Band, The Outlaws, Blackberry Smoke, The Gregg Allman Band, The Marcus King Band, The Allman Betts Band, and many more.

Hamlin is also a future graduate of the Contemporary Musicianship Bachelor’s Degree Program at Middle Georgia State University and one of two piano students under the direct supervision of Jazz Pianist Dr. Christian Kim, who studied the subject of improvisation from various Jazz legends such as Miles Davis and Ellis Marsalis. Outside of MGSU, Hamlin serves as a pianist, vocalist, and synthesist for many bands including the Alternative group Hindsight, who can be heard regularly on radio stations such as 100.5 FM The X and 100.9 FM The Creek. He is currently partnered with companies like Georgia Grown, Capricorn Studios, United Talent Agency, Double-A Productions, Dynes Media, Rectify Film, Festiviz Media, and many more. Hindsight has had the opportunity to perform with many more popular modern artists and groups such as Waka Flocka Flame, DJ Mustard, Colt Ford, Meet Me @ The Altar, Michael Cera Palin, The Callous Daoboys, and many others!

As a student at Rutland High School, he participated three times in Georgia’s Literary Competition and became a 3-time consecutive Champion of the Region Competition, receiving an opportunity to compete at the state level each year. He was selected for Middle Georgia’s District 11 Honor Choir on three separate occasions and was also one of 200 Georgia High School Students to be chosen to perform with the All-State GMEA Choir (Georgia Music Educators Association) in 2016. He also competed in Georgia’s LGPE (Large Group Performance Evaluation) during those same three years with his choir receiving the highest possible score every year. However, he says the most memorable of these academic moments was receiving the “Most Musical” superlative from his fellow peers in his graduating class. In his four years at Middle Georgia State University, he has sung every year with the University Chamber Singers and also performed as a vocalist, keyboardist, and percussionist for the Middle Georgia State University Jazz Band, Concert Band, and Commercial Rock Ensemble. “I am eternally grateful for the many friends and faculty I have met at MGSU along the way and I am excited to continue to pursue my musical ambitions by using the guidance that has been so kindly given to me!”      –Ethan Hamlin
